OUR CITY - OUR PLAN FOR SANTA ANA

As your Council Member and former State Assemblyman, and as a parent and homeowner in Santa Ana, I plan to represent everyone. Together we can do better for our City.

Improving Public Safety:

We’ve made progress by hiring more police officers, reducing 911 response times and requiring officers to wear body cameras. We should also continue our anti-gang enforcement program, which now operates 7 days per week.

However, let’s reduce property crimes and take a “tough love” approach to address the homelessness crisis by getting drug addicts and mentally ill transients off our streets and into treatment programs.

Protecting Vital Programs for Families:

First, we must ensure our families and small businesses can rebuild from the COVID crisis. Using my voice as a former Assemblymember, I advocated that $28 million from the State of California go directly to Santa Ana residents for rent, utilities, and childcare assistance rather than letting our share of the available state funds go to the County of Orange.

I also believe in investing in young people and seniors. As Mayor, I’ll expand paid internships and WiFi programs, and continue Summer Night Lights programs for our families and children. I’ll support our seniors by working to develop wellness check-in programs, continue food assistance offerings and create a seniors services directory.

Focusing on ALL Neighborhoods:

Throughout our City    South and North of 17th Street    I’ll continue to prioritize park, street and quality of life improvement projects for our neighborhoods. I’ll continue the successful Park Security pilot program which I initiated. This park safety program significantly reduced the number of tent encampments, trash debris and other unsafe activities at our parks.

I would be honored to be your Mayor. I have the resume, experience and resolve to get the job done and respectfully ask for your vote.

Thank you!
